Soundprints
2022
This work aims to capture, in as much detail as possible, the vibrational patterns formed on the surface of the water. The paintings were created using a basin filled with water, into which sounds were played at continuous frequencies. The paper absorbed the imprint of these vibrations through direct ink transfer, making each print unique.
The lightness of the gray tones evokes an invitation to listen, to immerse one’s sensitivity in the material and its subtle movements, in a multitude of details and interactions between space, materials, and forms—all of which are condensed and conveyed through sound. Water, with its fluidity, is ideal for symbolizing this multiplicity of interactions.
