Bruine
Interactive machines
2024
This machine is inspired by the action of rain: a mass of tiny particles falls, each producing a micro-sound, creating complexity through the effects of mass and accumulation. Fragments of roofing slate are salvaged from a construction site and set into vibration by small marbles that fall one after another, forming a random melodic pattern that loops continuously. The work aims to encourage careful, attentive listening by generating a delicate soundscape rich in detail.
