Poussières Mécaniques
2023
“Poussières Mécaniques” is a collaboration with composer Simon Louche. It is an exploration of a vibrant, teeming, organic aesthetic created from industrial waste. It breathes new life into dormant materials found in abandoned factories, transforming them into sound, kinetic, and light-emitting machines.
The machines produce a varied palette of timbres (wood, metal, plastic, ceramic…), obtained mechanically through percussive sounds and slow and fast friction. Throughout the piece, various interactions and flows of energy unfold between the sounds of the machines, their lights, percussion, and electronics. The composition blends noise textures drawn from the electroacoustic repertoire with highly rhythmic and pulsating aesthetics.
The result is a mysterious and immersive experience in the dark, where the audience perceives warm, dancing lights, and where the amplification of the sound machines draws us deeply into their materiality.
